Happy Birthday Sky!

Will we or won’t we? I am interested in knowing whether or not we will be getting a tax stimulus check. I know how much it will be but I suspect they will apply it to our back taxes. As much as it would be awesome to get the check and get caught up on bills and certain peoples I owe some mulah to, I can’t say I would be upset about having my IRS debt reduced to nearly nothing. Not having that huge bill every month would help a ton so it’s really a toss up. Either way will be good. I just want to know.

My job is going OK. No, I am not thrilled about working but I suppose there are worse jobs. I think my main complaint is those damn fluorescent lights all day that are so bright I might as well be sitting a foot from the freaking sun. After an hour or so, the headache comes on and I get super dizzy then fight off panic attacks the rest of the day. Overall, the job is not bad…there are busy days but there are also “slacker days” and usually I don’t know which one it will be until I get there. Unfortunately the summer is vacation time for some of the doctors so I have had more days off than usual which has been nice to be home but my paycheck will not be a happy one. Those days off mean the patients’ appointments need to be crammed into the few days they are there so some of those days have been extended and no one working there is happy about 14 hour clinics or trying to make follow up appointments in the couple of days they are there during the month. This is just one doctor but he’s the most popular and most of his patients anticipate a 2 hour wait to see him. Yes I will now stop bitching about my job.

Considering I haven’t really been on my computer lately to write, I need to give some brief updates.

We went camping Memorial Day weekend with Keith and Mary Jo. We all had a blast and it was nice to ride the mountain bike trails again. The weather was a bit chilly for half of the weekend but we did a little creek walking and rented a boat to ride around the lake.

FunkyB is back in our lives and has been hanging out a bit. Sky’s computer died so FunkyB replaced it and Sky is happy again.

After the rash of crazy thunderstorms and tornados, it has been insanely hot lately. It hasn’t been over 90 degrees since October of last year so it’s a bit of a shock. With gas prices the way they are, we cannot afford to be driving out to the water park but a small one opened near us and it’s super cheap to get in so we have been going there to swim. An old friend happens to work at one of John’s jobs (small world) so he’s been excited to go to the water park with us.

This would have never happened otherwise but thanks to Grandpa, Sky has acquired a Nintendo Wii for his birthday. It’s not my top choice of a new console but I can’t deny it’s fun as heck. He’s only got the games it comes with and Mario & Sonic Olympics but the latter is pretty cool.

Since Dawn is a professional piercer, we have gotten a few done. The holes in my ears were still open after all these years so I have stretched them to a 10. She claims it was her diabolical plan to get us addicted. I will quit when I can fit those cute little rhinos she has at her shop into them! We have been hanging out at their house a lot too. Dawn and I went to see Sex & The City but both of us were dissatisfied with the ending and then gave a long lecture to her teenage stepdaughter and her friend that were with us about how not to let men treat you. It was kind of funny.
