New stuff for free? Can't beat that!
Halloween came and went without too much excitement and minimal decorating. We took Sky and Jonah around our new neighborhood. Josh joined us for his baby’s first trick-or-treating. The new neighborhood rocks. Everyone is rich and nice, the kids scored with candy and Kali even got some doggy treats for being dressed up (and tons of compliments).
Another thing I am enjoying about the neighborhood is the fact we are walking distance to the library and that makes my MP3 collection grow at an amazingly fast pace. John has been enjoying checking out DVDs to watch at his night job on the portable player we got for camping. Oh, books? Yeah I suppose I get some of those every now and then too.
We sold the Wii. I know, that didn’t take long. It never even left the box since we moved here so I sold it and all the controllers/games we had for enough to get a PS3. I love Craig’s List…I have been selling off most of the stuff we own. Well the PS3 is awesome and it was a must for the new Rock Band. The version for the PS2 is so watered down and there is no capability for downloading any music content. It’s great now and we are loving it.
We only bought a new TV 2 years ago when the other one went out but it was already fucking up and getting annoying. The warranty I bought was in-home so we had the guy out a couple times trying to fix it with no luck then he got the parts and they were the wrong ones. I was irritated at best then the repairman said the magical words “I can make it so you can just get a new one.”. Uh, ok, no arguments here. We had a flat screen but it was still a tube TV and they don’t make those anymore so I knew we’d end up on the winning side of this deal. He called later to give me the go-ahead and I did some LCD TV shopping at the store where we bought the original one. The also don’t make 27”s anymore and the more I eyed the 32” ones, I knew that’s what I wanted. I really don’t know how I pulled this off but the salesman ended up offering me a 32” that was $150 more than what we paid for the other one. No one knew how to find a comparable to a tube TV so the manager got involved and said that flat screen was good enough. Hell yeah. FunkyB came over to help us get the old TV back to the store and hook up the new one and the Bengals were playing. We turned it on and sat in awe as the Bengals made an awesome play and it was so so pretty. We got the HD cable box when we moved in here so the picture looks absolutely amazing. I still can’t get over it…I just sit and stare. I am convinced the new TV is what made the Bengals win their first and only game of the season.
