Crying and copping a feel...

Things were looking good for a minute. An interview that went so good they called me back for a second with the president and that went great too and it turned out my neighbor worked there. Figured I was in. Even with my 97% on an Excel test I took (no, I have never used the program before), they went with someone with more experience working with numbers. It was a job working entirely with Excel…hello, 97%? Ugh. A good phone interview for another position that a moron could do blindfolded turned into them going with someone with more cash handling experience. OMG! Nearly 10 years at the same company running a website as a one-woman team doesn’t get you anywhere in this world. I actually think I’d do better if I had been a job-hopper. I’m also glad my recruiter decided to tell me the bad news on the Friday before Xmas so I could spend the rest of the weekend and holiday crying my eyes out and feeling like a loser again.

Better news is that I got an “A” on my appraisal and an “A” on the final. Onto Finance now with lots of reading and homework…boo!

Other December goings-on include Sky & I being invited to go with Dawn and her kids to the Zoo’s Festival of Lights for free. That was cool. The next night she met us downtown to do some ice skating. Her husband and son play hockey and her step-daughter used to figure skate so they could manage a bit better than me but I do alright. I don’t fall and I can skate backwards so that’s not too bad right? We had a blast until some guys holding hands came flying from behind us and plowed Dawn and Lilith over. Poor Lilith banged up her knee pretty good and Dawn landed with her hand firmly on one of the guys’ *ahem* “package”. It was rather comical how she was the one apologizing to him when it should have been the other way around.
