Let it snow...

I finally got the snow pics online so click here to check them out!

Edr0 had a flat tire but I had assumed he'd gotten it changed by now but Mau said he saw him walking to work this morning. The story is that Edr0 had a slight issue while performing the change...while wiggling the tire to get it off, the car slipped off the jack. I don't know what happened beyond that. I suspect our car's belly got eaten by the salt because it was fine then Mau dropped me off at the hospital and it suddenly started making a terrible noise while accelerating. I figure it's an exhuast issue but who the fuck knows. Since I sent an amazing amount to the good 'ol IRS then I didn't get paid ($%^^%&) then the bank decided to change it's rules on "floating debits" like how you pay for something then make a deposit the next day? Yeah, that's a no-go now and I found out the hard way (*&#$%!!!). Needless to say, car repairs are not in the budget.

Done!

I am officially done with my dental work. No, not my orthodontics…I wish. I still have a year although Dr.I says I am ahead of schedule but I don’t know by how much. My evil cavity filling is done though. I can’t believe they got me in there twice for needles going into my gums but they did thanks to a good friend of mine affectionately known as Valium. It didn’t take long at all. I only got through one Madonna song and ¼ of another. These were teeny tiny cavities but I still thought Dr.C was speedy and painless. I swear I did not cry at all :P and I have witnesses to that fact. They talked Mau into coming in for some of his endless work next…they’re good at that.

Mary Jo was sick 2 weeks ago for league so Keith asked Sky to sub for her. He was very excited to be able to bowl with the adults and helped Keith’s team win 2 of them. 2 teams didn’t show last week so we bowled the college guys but not against them. I bowled an impressive 170 then fell apart and bowled like crap the other 2. We won 3 finally somehow. This week I bowled great but we lost 2 of them because someone else can’t bowl his average…just kidding, kinda.

Saturday was filled with a lot of guests in the house…so many we didn’t have the proper seating. We used to get a lot of pop-ins in Clifton but not so much over here in the P.H. We ran into Ted in Clifton after Sky’s Vet class so he caught a ride over to hang out. FunkyB arrived a bit later bearing gifts of a handheld, triangle shaped, edible, Italian variety then Mary Jo & Keith came by for games. Mary Jo is hooked on the newest Karaoke Revolution version, the American Idol one. It is pretty fun.

Ok, Winter is here NOW!

I can safely say Winter has arrived. It's been cold for a few days now and we finally got snow, very rare to not have any this far into the season but we got enough to break out the snowskate and sleds.

In the world of orthodontics...

I am pink with wall to wall powerchains and a fun rubber band to boot…sigh, again. I didn’t mind the last rubber band but I didn’t realize how much I enjoyed NOT having to deal with them until now. I have the same configuration as last time. This is bringing my midlines into shape and my bottom gaps are closing as I type due to the powerchain. Boy, they move fast and I can feel every shift. This has been the most painful adjustment I have had in awhile.

Is there a Vet in the house?

Saturdays are busy again with Sky starting a new quarter of his class. He got his first choice, the junior vet course, and was very excited to begin examinations and slicing and dicing. They built a dog skeleton, listened to a live dog’s heart (very patient St.Bernard) and learned a lot of medical terminology. I got sucked in while sitting in on his class and really had to resist the temptation to thrust my hand in the air when questions were asked like “Pick me! Pick me please! I know the answer!”.

Ironically, we took Kali over to the tennis courts later today to run a little. I barely got her leash off and she took off after the stick I threw. Not even a minute passed and she was clawing at her mouth. Sky ran over and said “OMG, she’s got blood coming out of her mouth!”. As everyone who knows me personally can vouch for, I am useless in a crisis. I immediately turn into a deer stuck in the headlights; possibly with my mouth wide open in amazement…I might as well not even be there. So, Mau runs over there but finds nothing he does helps…she’s very strong and getting her to let you look in her mouth is nearly impossible and the inevitable happens, Mau gets bitten twice. Tension builds as she continues clawing at her mouth and the blood keeps flowing. I snap into reality and frantically fumble through my cell phone phonebook for the vet’s number so I can find an emergency number. Skylar’s voice cuts through the chaos “It was only my first day of vet class, I DIDN’T LEARN THIS YET!!!”. Ok, I will let you know that we got Kali home where Mau sprayed the hose into her mouth and dislodged the mystery whatever-the-fuck-it-was from wherever-the-fuck-it-was and she was totally fine so you can laugh at Sky’s exclamation.
