One lump or 2?
Our complete shit bowling last week cost us our ranking…we dropped down to a measly 4th. We were delighted to play Mary Jo & Keith this week. We haven’t played them since week 1 of league. We are matched closely in handicap so it’s more of a scratch game. We won 3 this time. It was probably due to our practice last Monday with Robin & Jeff and any crap we bowled then was blamed on the ball return, which got a kick each time. That’s Sky’s thing, blaming the ball return, his ball, the weather, whatever’s convenient because you know it’s never his fault. It was cracking us up so we all started blaming our poor throws on that damn ball return.
This week we bowled again with Robin & Jeff. Sam’s little girl was there so she bowled with Skylar. Of course that resulted in all the adults making the obvious comments like “You better get back to your girlfriend Skylar.” And him shooting back “She’s NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!”. Oh the joys of being a parent. After his girlfriend left, he was running around with some little kids playing tag in the bar area. He comes back looking like he had been crying with a huge lump right in between his eyes. He said he had run into the brick wall back there. Sam got him some ice and we did all the concussion tests. I’m surprised he didn’t pass out but he said he didn’t and he seemed fine besides the mega huge lump.
We are getting normal spring weather finally. We took advantage of the warm day and dusted off the tennis rackets for a few sets today. It was nice.

6th place? Better than nothing...
Sky’s chess club had a 2 week (session) tournament that ended Tuesday. Considering he joined mid year and had just learned to play, he is very proud to have received 6th place in his division and a medal. His quote? "A medal? Better than nothing!". He won most of his games and a stalemate…I think he lost one game.
We must have forgotten how to bowl this week because we couldn’t bowl over our averages even one game and got our asses handed to us by a man and his 11 yr old boy…how embarrassing. That is going to push us down to 3rd place for now. Apparently there was much drama in the league last week after we left. Something about some other league members playing pool afterwards and a fight breaking out and the loudmouth drunk girl yelling “Fuck” every other word which the other league there with small children didn’t care for. Cops were called and 2 people were kicked out of our league, leaving us one team short. The girl who works there told us another team is going to take their spot though so it all worked out.
This past weekend was Fasching at Sky's school. The highlight for Sky was the games, the highlight for me was the awesome pastries and the highlight for Mau was running into his boss...hehe. We didn't spend too much time since we were due over at Tracy's for her son's b-day party and we never ever miss a party at Tracy's. This one did not disappoint with the great company, the delicious food and other delights...Mau had to roll me out I was so stuffed.
We had snow in mid March. We welcomed the spring equinox with an invigorating snowskate session with the dog. She got super freaky and took off pulling Mau behind her on the snowskate...I saw him flying down toward the park worker's headquarters then bailing before he hit the tractor. It appears Kali saw the work trucks and was trying to find Kari.

Boyz in da hood...
Sunday we took Sky to a Harry Potter camp at the zoo. The kids got to be at Hogwart’s school for 3 hours, learn spells, and make potions then graduate. It was pretty cool.
Since we had time to kill, we didn’t want to drive home and it was so warm out so we looked for some mischief in the old ‘hood. We didn’t find much but we did find Fuzz manning the store by himself and in need of a laptop repairman so Mau offered his services. We hung out there for awhile chatting about poker, waiting for a man named Ted to stroll in but he didn’t show so we wandered down to Starbucks for a quick pick-me-up. After finding absolutely no action in smoke-free Starbucks (not even a strange fellow named Tad, which is a rarity), we did a drive-by on Edr0’s house. His car was there so we knocked, doorbelled and telephoned him for a good 10 minutes before we got bored of his sleeping-at-3pm ass and drove home. Fuzz said Edr0 was at his poker game last night and won so that means he was out late late (or early depending on how you look at it).
My new bowling ball is kicking butt…or maybe it’s the superb end user :P Either way, I am bowling better and we are retaining our 2nd place slot with another 3 wins!

Bye bye springs!
In the orthodontics world, I went in for my 4th adjustment today and went royal blue. Besides a heavier wire, nothing exciting was scheduled to happen but I pouted slightly when the Dr came in and he told the assistant to go ahead and bracket the tooth next to my top front tooth and attach my remaining fang! Yay! I guess it was a fine line as to whether there was enough room for both but that means NO MORE SPRINGS…I like that. My upper front teeth are sore as hell but I was able to eat normally with my molars for the first time after an adjustment.
In the bowling world, we won 2 and the other team won 2 so we are still in 2nd place for now. We both bowled pretty good.
Maestro is back to normal. It took awhile to heal but he can now open both eyes…poor kitty.

The scrapper...
Maestro got in a fight last Friday afternoon. I didn’t realize he was hurt until he had no interest in coming into the house so I picked him up. He was burning up and had blood dripping from his eye. Mau took one look and said “Looks like a trip to the vet.”. We took him immediately and got him fixed up. He had a fever and the vet said it looked like he was bit on his lower eyelid. 10 minutes with the vet, some ointment and antibiotics = $63! Not exactly a good financial time for it with taxes looming over our broke heads but at least he’s feeling better and acting more like himself again.
Mau’s blog sums up the recent bowling stats. My new ball rocks and is taking care of business the way I expected it to.
