My royal flush beats your Olympics anyday...

OMG, another fucking week of the Olympics? It’s really too much now.

FunkyB is working in town and Edr0 is back from Cali so we were able to get a little poker game together. Ted won and I came in 2nd. It was good to play in person finally. I still do the online thing daily but it’s nice to play with real chips. Speaking of online, I had a royal flush inside draw on the flop. I usually don't chase but it was cheap to call and I had a lot of outs then my opponent checked on the turn, giving me my river card for free. I nearly jumped out of my seat. It was a cash room and I went all-in but he folded so I didn't get to show it...bummer. Mau witnessed so I had someone to celebrate with. I guess my chances of ever hitting one again are pretty much shot huh?

I finally got my birthday present. FunkyB was buying a ball and mine had just come in so we got them drilled. It wasn’t ready Sunday so I had to use my old ball but we won all 4 I think. We took the new balls out for a test ride on Monday. I really really love mine but I have to get used to it. It’s heavier for starters and I have to learn how to control it for spare pickups but I was hitting the pocket more than not.

Not enough snow...

We are in 1st place in league for this week. Next week, we will drop down I’m sure. We played the other dizzy girl’s team this week. She has a huge handicap and her husband is really good so it was rough. We both needed to bowl great. I did (over my average all 3) but Mau did not hold up his end of the deal. We lost all 4 not by much. I told him he’s off the team. So far we have liked everyone we’ve bowled…no assholes yet. I was very happy that my wrist protector seemed to work. I was hitting the pocket more than not and got strikes in all games…a miracle for me :-)

Sky bowled over his average all 3 games in his league.

It has been snowing here a lot but that huge storm missed us so it ended up not being enough to get any serious snowskating in. The snow was super fluffy. It looked like little cotton balls on the wires. I was hoping to get a photo but it was too cold to mess with it at night and it was melted by morning.

A note on the Olympics? I absolutely hate them and want them to be over.

Edr0 update: Mau called him up, asked him where he was at. Edr0 replies “In’n’Out Burger”. Ok, so that would be California, LA to be exact. All I can say is “Bad idea, Ed, bad idea. Hopefully he won’t give all his money to her this time…or his soul. Oh yeah, she’s already got that.

FunkyB did a pop-in with a co-worker of his earlier today then we went bowling. I bowled great but once again, Mau couldn’t pick up anything until his last game…maybe he needs a wrist guard too hehe.

Alles Gute zum Geburtstag zu mir!

Yes I’m a dork and will talk about bowling balls now. I wanted a new bowling ball for my birthday but we went to buy it and get it drilled and they were out of the one I want. Bummer. The company stopped production on it temporarily to get a couple of their higher end balls out. The one I want is a cheapo compared to some but I was trying to go up in weight and this one has more back end punch to work with my curve into the head pin. We want to win this year! The prize is cash money this time. The guy will call when it comes in in a few weeks. It’s pretty and purple though. I did pick up a wrist brace so we’ll see how that works out this Sunday. I can’t imagine keeping my wrist straighter is a bad thing though.

Blood and guts...

Sky has had a loose tooth for some time now. A few days ago he’s walking up the front stairs that are crumbling since it got cold. The stair breaks off a little and he falls, jamming the corner of the Junior Pictionary box he’s carrying into it. He comes into the house crying with blood pouring out of his mouth. Both Mau & I are weak stomached over dental issues so we could barely look. What I did see was his tooth completely sideways. I suggest Mau go get Mary Jo because of her medical assistant training and strong stomach when Sky stops crying and simply reaches in his mouth and yanks the tooth out. God, I nearly puked but hid it by praising Sky on his bravery. I look over and Mau is on the floor behind the couch with his hands over his ears saying “Is it over yet?”. It looked OK but Mau called a dentist to make sure. They said it should be fine since it was a baby tooth. The tooth fairy thought he deserved a little more than usual considering the traumatic loss so she left $5. Glad that’s over. Again, I am thankful for having a boy…gets rid of bugs for me AND pulls out his own teeth? Whew!

I wonder what happened to Edr0? He hasn’t been over in a little while. Not that I want to pay up on my lost bet over the Superbowl (fucking Pittsburgh) but I wanted to see what was up with his woman. He mentioned that, after dumping him, she wanted him to do a fake marriage so she can stay here. I advised him to run like the wind but he’s not one to listen to sane advice when it comes to this particular girl.

It snowed here again but not enough to do any snowskating so it was a waste. It just made it cold. We have been spoiled by this warm winter (you wouldn’t guess it by my heating bill but…).

Happy Birthday HellaKitty!

Our baby’s all grown up now. Watch out politicians and sellers of tobacco products for HellaKitty is the big 1-8. She drove down in her own car (I know, where did the time go?) with her b/f, Steve, to celebrate with us. Out of convenience only, we went to Don Pablo’s. It was alright but nothing compared to Jalapeno’s (duh) and the server screwed up multiple parts of our orders. If I recall, that was the reason we made the Mexican restaurant switch to begin with years ago. Anyways, it was alright this time and a nice change.

We headed over to Gameworks after dinner for some gaming action. I love it there when it’s not crowded and the DDR machine is mine all mine. HellaKitty and I got in plenty of rounds. Neither of us gets to play much at the arcade and it showed. We had a little trouble with our great to perfect ratios and getting the buttons to register. It’s definitely different than playing at home but we did alright. I was very pleased with the new position of the machine and the volume…you can actually hear it now!

They had to head back home afterwards but will be back next weekend so Steve and Mau can do their skating thing.
