The No Bodies...

We went with that over Last Place Losers like last time. We are currently 3rd in our bowling league but we won 3 points this week so we might have made it into 2nd. I had been bowling like crap recently but I finally knocked out a 145. The guys we bowled were nice so it was a fun game…joking and encouragement for the opposite teams instead of super competitive attitudes; a big improvement over last year’s league. I would like a heavier ball for my birthday but we'll see if that works out.

Geeks of the world unite...

Sky has joined the chess club at school. He totally loves it even though he has not perfected his game yet and keeps losing. I said he should join the computer club next and he says “Haha, that’s for geeks!”. Mau & I both laugh “And the chess club isn’t?”. I recall the chess club in my school being the official meeting place for geeks. That was a small high school though and this is a large elementary school. There’s a ton of kids in it…the whole gym is filled when I walk in to pick him up. Look out world, there’s going to be a shit load of geeks coming out of the German school!

In the world of orthodontics, I went in for my 2nd adjustment. It will be a few days of mushy foods for me…oh beautiful Gummi Bear, I will be back for you one day. I got a bigger wire again, they replaced my broken bracket and attached my other back bottom molar to the wire. Other than that, no new stuff :-( . I was hoping on my remaining fang being attached and the little top tooth next to my front tooth being brought forward. They said there’s not enough room yet (maybe not next time either) so I still have the springs. One joy is that my last sideways bottom tooth has straightened out. I really have had tremendous progress in a short time…I hardly recognize my teeth now. I am just in a stale stage where nothing exciting is happening and I really want that fucking fang gone but maybe I can aim for April?

Go Seattle!

All I will say, AGAIN, is “Fucking Pittsburgh!” and I will move on for this week.

We had more teams join our bowling league this week. I think we have 9 now. Everyone seems pretty cool so far. We were in first place after the first week since we got all 4 then. This week Mau carried us by bowling 2 awesome games then a total crap game so we got 2 and the other team got 1 plus the overall point. I bowled consistently like shit all 3 games. I will blame it on dry lanes…excuses, excuses.

Edr0 update (kinda): He came by a couple times this week to play NFS Most Wanted and gave me a little of the scoop. After telling me a hundred times he didn’t want to talk about it, I pried this out of him…”I don’t know what she expected.” And she said she didn’t love him anymore. Harsh I know after all the time and money spent on her. I believe he might be insane since I asked him if he told her to fuck off and he said he needed to go to California to tell her in person. Um, why the fuck? Since he seemed so down, I didn’t push the subject further for now.

More dizzies?

All I will say is “Fucking Pittsburgh!” and I will move on for this week.

We started our new bowling league this week. Keith & Mary Jo were as unenthusiastic as we were considering every other league we have tried this year hasn’t worked out. We were pleasantly surprised to find 4 other teams. Yay, we don’t have to just play each other now. We appointed Keith as league president since he’s such a “Chatty Kathy”. My nomination was backed by the fact he would be nosing around at everyone else’s lane anyways. We played them and sure enough, every time it was Keith’s turn, I looked up and he was at another lane. Not that it really matters yet (we were bowling for averages), but we won all 4 points. The weird thing is there is a woman on another team with the same name as me and the same disease. She has Meniere’s too and has had multiple surgeries on the opposite ear as me, including the nerve cutting, and is nearly deaf in that ear. Yeah, you guessed it, still dizzy too. She sees a different doctor but has given up hope. She almost backed out of the league but Mary Jo let her know if she feels like she’s falling over, just look at me and know I am feeling the same way. I have never met anyone else with it in person so that is kind of cool in an odd way…an “I’m not crazy” type of thing.

Betting is closed and this winner is... *drumroll* Mau with a bet of 2 weeks. Yes, you heard it right. Edr0’s woman has once again come and gone. Obviously we had a lot of faith in this relationship. After all the time and money Edr0 spent on getting her into the U.S. *ahem* AGAIN, she has split within 2 weeks. At least she didn’t ditch him at the courthouse in front of his relatives this time. She took off to California. Edr0’s statement: “It wasn’t working out.”. Ok then. Years of monthly payments to Thailand well spent. Lets look at it from her point of view for a moment: (American money in hand every few weeks) “Love stupid American boyfriend. Let’s go shopping!”.

Noooooooooooooo!

I am still slightly miffed over the playoff game…well, miffed is a grave understatement. I’m pissed as fuck. In my opinion, we would have won had the so called “accident” (that’s what they want to call it anyways) not occurred. It might have also helped had the officials not given countless yards to Pittsburgh just to assure their winning and Kitna could actually throw a fucking football. It was all a bunch of bullshit but I suppose I must get over it and be happy they made it that far anyways. I will also enjoy watching Pittsburgh getting crushed by Indy this weekend. Sigh, only 8 more months…what the hell am I gonna do on Sundays now?

In the world of braces, I have popped my back bottom bracket off. I was eating, um, *clears throat nervously* popcorn at the time. I am due for an adjustment in 2 weeks anyways so they said to just wait it out unless the insanely long wire bothers me and so far, it is not.

We got a shiny new cable box for the computer room only because the old one blew up and they would not let us simply return it. I can still watch cable up here without it and it would save us some money on the bill each month. They gave us a new box and forced us to keep some movie channels we want to drop because we owe them money. Is that the most retarded thing you have ever heard? We want to “lower” our bill. I could understand if we were trying to add services.

U-S-A, U-S-A...

Sky was invited to a birthday party for a school friend. These are usually lame but it was at a family sports center so we decided to go. It was a wise choice. Since they had the place rented out, I got to try the batting cages for free. I have a bad childhood memory involving me in a softball uniform and a black eye that I gave myself after hitting the ball and having it, in turn, hit me…Pathetic, yes but it has given me a fear of hard balls flying anywhere near my face (snicker if you must). Since I was on a Valium, I went for it. It was great and I actually hit about 50% of the pitches! Between that and my watching of every Bengals (Who-dey!) and Monday Night Football game this season, am I becoming my mortal high school enemy, the jock? No, it can’t be. I must have something that retains my status of dork. What could it be? Think, think…Oh yeah. My addiction to DDR should do it. Whew.

Brakes, shmakes…who needs em?

We can thank FunkyB for my new addiction which is called Need For Speed – Most Wanted. He brought down a copy for the Xbox, along with Mortal Kombat. I haven’t played any racing games besides Mario Kart in forever. I have been waiting for one I could get into and this is it. I am making some progress through the game and it’s super fun. I might be taking a small break from my Tiger Woods 2006 tour season to drive really fucking fast.

Happy New Year!

FunkyB was down to help ring in the new year. We all went bowling and drinking with Keith & Mary Jo then came home and drank some more while playing games. Skylar tried to bail out early, as is his usual routine, but this year he stayed up that extra 10 minutes to join the midnight toast then rushed off to bed. Strange child.

More deserving of a toast is the fact that he is back to school now. He was well into his “I’m a butthead b/c I’m out of school for weeks” phase. That definitely needed to come to an end.

It was so warm today we took a bike ride. 10 minutes after we got back, a thunderstorm rolled through. Odd January weather. I’ll take it though…keeps our insanely high gas bill under control.
