Seconds from death...
We are still in 2nd place this week in our league and I think we will hang on for another week. We only won 1 point last night but I have been trying to figure out for weeks where my "groove" went. I have adjusted and readjusted my stances and approach starting positions and nothing has worked. We bowled against the league leader and she coached me on what I was doing wrong and it worked...I pulled off 4 strikes in the last game and was picking up spares I couldn't pick up before had my life depended on it. I thought it was really nice of her to help me even though we were bowling against her team.
I have been battling a sickness I refer to now as 'The Beast From Hell That Might Kill Me'. I had gotten a cold way back on my birthday. I had the aches and chills but only for a day then the cold kicked into full gear. I quickly downed my usual concoction of zinc and echinacea and it was gone in a few days with mild symptoms. Whew, dodged that one. Well, no. A week later I get the aches and chills again with a sore throat. This time I skipped the zinc thinking it wouldn't really turn into anything since I was just sick. Boy was I wrong. I got the full brunt of it like I was hit by a speeding train. I got completely congested to the point where you can't taste or smell and make weird sounds out of your nose when you try to do stupid things like breathe. I'm extremely used to colds, even severe ones and I didn't slow down. I keep doing all the normal things like playing DDR and keeping the house in order but while complaining the whole time. It went along with me thinking every day that I would feel better the next day. Ain't happening. I have been congested for 2 weeks now, have gone through like 50 boxes of tissues, am hacking up yellow gunk every 2 minutes or so (except when sleeping, then I just hack up the built up shit from the night for hours in the morning), I have no fever but I have been achey with chills and a headache from hell for 7 days now. I am talking achey like every step I take hurts and even brushing up against something feels excruciating and chills like I have goosebumps all the time and shake constantly. Ibuprofin helps me at least get through bowling and DDR and I have taken a few naps...and you all know how anti-nap I am. I feel going to a doctor won't help at this point. They say you have to go in the first 48 hours and I'm way past that so I'm thinking "deal with it and shut up" is pretty much my only option. I apologize for this grim interruption and return you to normally scheduled programming.
