Damn Christians!

We finally got to play Keith & Mary Jo in league. There are some people I don't like to play (like the ones we play next week for the 3rd time with the girl who talks way too much shit while playing). We won 2 games and Keith & Mary Jo won 1. I bowled like poop first game, so-so 2nd game but bowled my highest game 3rd game...a 152. Nice. I got strikes and spares across the board except 2 frames. There are 2 other kids Sky plays with while we bowl and the 3 of them run all over and play video games and stuff. I guess the league next to us is a Christian league and they finally complained about our kids so they have to stay down with us now, which doesn't give them access to even the bathrooms much less the quarter machines or games. Plus they took 2 of our lanes so 2 of our teams have to play way down the alley now. I guess they pay more than we all do or they are just asses. Either or, I think it's kind of dickey. Sky bowled pretty crappy so I don't think he will qualify for the Pepsi tournament.

Yumminess is the word of the day

Happy (late) Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving dinner was a success, thanks in part to my incredible sweet potato casserole. The turkey was still partially frozen so it took a little longer than planned. I think that just gave everyone more time to be hungry enough to appreciate it more. The turkey turned out perfect. Considering that was our first attempt at cooking a turkey, that's saying something. I made pumpkin bread, cranberry bread (oh wait, Kali ate the whole cranberry loaf while no one watched her...didn't even leave any crumbs as evidence.), a super yummy pumpkin pie (Freyja approved), a fruity jello salad and cookies. It was a true feast. Edr0 stopped by after we were done eating and a poker game was on but he says "Oh, I invited some people over. Is that okay?" which Mau replies "No." but they came by anyways. We don't know these people and once they arrived, they only talked to Edro and Ted then they all decided to go out. A bit rude I thought. He could have just met them at his place instead of bringing them over to my house on Thanksgiving. I'm a bit miffed with him now.

I am finally done with the 3 part washing dishes festival. I have no room to do them all at once.

Freyja wants to sing too

Skylar is very anti listening to others' advice on bowling so he actually hits pins but he listened to FunkyB and he bowled his best game on Saturday. He bowled a 63, 73 and a 105...the last 2 being his high games in league. I should have had him bowl for me last night. I couldn't get into my groove and, after bowling my best game last week, bowled my worst game this week. The other team wasn't there so we just bowled against their averages and won 2 games luckily. At least we are winning some now. Next week we are scheduled to play Keith & Mary Jo so that will be fun.

HellaKitty has a job now so she can't come down for Thanksgiving...retail work and holidays, you know. Ted and FunkyB are supposed to show and we got a turkey for super cheap. I am making stuff. I know, me cooking? I never said I couldn't cook. I just don't do it often. I am making a pumpkin pie, some breads and a sweet potato thingie. Oh, and stuffing. Nothing too crazy.

Edr0's g/f is going back to Thailand on Wednesday. Her mom is pretty sick so she needs to go back. They got down to the courthouse to get married but she backed out in front of his parents and such. Sometimes I seriously doubt her commitment to Sparkle Motion.

Freyja has once again had it with Karaoke Revolution. She's fine when me, FunkyB or Skylar sing but when Mau sings, she goes nuts. She started furiously rubbing against him then swats him in the face with her paw. I noticed she will sit there calmly with her eyes closed while he hits the correct notes but when he sings off key, she starts hitting him. This, of course, sends us into uncontrollable laughter making it even harder for him to sing. I think she's taken on the thankless task of being his vocal coach.

What did I do wrong?

Some days are just total shit and you wonder why you even bother.

I found an abandoned, skinny 8 month old red lab at the park. She really liked Kali so she followed us home. I put her in the backyard so she could eat, then as we cannot keep her, took her to the SPCA. I know it's risky but maybe her lost owners will find her there? I didn't know what else to do but I knew I couldn't leave her in the park. Mau got pissed at me for making it my problem. Then he was hungry so he decided to yell at me and say "fuck you" to me so we are not talking now. Sometimes I really wish I had a friend to talk to. Instead, I decided to drive. I haven't driven in over a year but I wanted to make sure I still could, just in case. It felt invigorating...I felt so free.

Halloween photos are up

I finally got the graveyard and Halloween photos up. The graveyard pics are under the photo projects page (for the computer illiterate peoples).

Sky has gotten the hang of Karaoke Revolution. I figured he wouldn't do well because he doesn't know the general pop songs but it turns out he's a natural at singing. I have always heard him singing to songs in the car since he was really young and pausing if it's a swear word (for punk songs and such). It's better than regular karaoke because you have to sing pretty similar or you fail out of the song. He picked "ABC" by the Jackson 5 and got a good score. You can't pick the same song twice in a round so he was forced to pick other songs and even without knowing a song, he does just fine. I have him sing "Love Shack" with me on duets and he loves it. It's cute, trust me. If he keeps it up, maybe he can get into the performing arts school when he has to go somewhere else after 6th grade. Just thinking out loud here.

Last place losers, no more!

The photos should be up soon. I was able to fix the red eye issues with a different program and the company finally sent me the key today, the bastards.

We should no longer be the last place losers in bowling after last night. We won all 3 games, giving us 4 points so we should move up the list next week. They had our averages listed wrong because for some reason, they didn't count us or the people we were playing against last week as being there. Even if they fix it, my average had gone down this week because I played like shit last week so we should still have had about a 90 pin advantage over them. Last night I played my best series so far and the other team has low handicaps (because they're actually good) and the guy bowled the same game as me last game. Keith and Mary Jo won 2 of their games too so that might put them in first place. Next week we play 2 women with around the same averages as us so we will just have to bowl really good...haha, easier said than done. I did start using the arrows on the lane instead of just looking at the pins and that seems to help me place my curve ball better to get into the pocket just right. Jeez, I sound like a geek.

We are most likely going to do Thanksgiving dinner at our place this year. Vicki's mom usually has over people we don't know and her dad just had a heart attack so it seems the better plan just to stay home this year. FunkyB & Ted have nowhere to go anyways and HellaKitty should be down so it would be worth it...and I think, kinda fun, but Mau disagrees with me.

Creepy stuff

Only 2 of the kitties at the park are left now. A cop had talked to me 2 weeks ago and said he called the ASPCA so I think they might have come to get the mommy, the babies and the black kitty. Just a black & white male and a teenage grey & white one are left. I still take them food everyday and the grey one (Mister Grey I call him) will come when I call him and let me pet him. We found a baby doll foot the other day. Odd. Skylar decided to chuck it over a cliff.

I haven't seen "Creepy Grandpa" on my walks lately thankfully. Oh yeah, I haven't talked about "Creepy Grandpa" yet. I had seen this guy twice on walks with Kali and he seemed nice enough, older like in his 60's maybe, said his name was Sean. The first time I saw him, we talked for a little bit and I noticed his fly was undone. Common mistake for an old dude? Maybe, so I let it go. He kept asking me over the course of both talks what time I came up there. I would always dodge the question and just say "whenever I have time". I lied about where I lived and said I took Kung Fu, just in case he was up to no good. I still figured he was harmless. I talked to Sue and she said she had talked to this same guy. We knew it was the same guy when she said he had his fly open. He had asked her to walk into the woods with him. Ok, now he's creepy. I had seen his car and his license plates, just in case and he's got KY plates so a search of the sexual predators in our zip code would do no good. Knowing, if he is up to no good, that he might be waiting for me, I have changed the times I walk through the park by myself so I am not always going at the same time and I haven't seen him since. Gives me an uneasy feeling though.

Some white supremacist "literature" (AKA 3 photocopied, badly worded pieces of paper) was thrown onto my lawn like the morning paper. Creepier than "Creepy Grandpa" or the same creepiness? Why did I move from Clifton again?

OUCH!

I have a pinched nerve in my neck that is absolutely driving me crazy. I woke up yesterday feeling fine then I moved and it hit me. You know, when you can't turn your head to one side without screaming in pain? I thought maybe today it would be gone but it's lingering around just to piss me off. I am in total pain all day long and no position seems to be comfortable or pain free. I slept with a Ben-Gay patch on it and was able to sleep finally...at first no positioning of my neck was a good thing. It's making it very hard for me to really do anything and I'm very irritable.

Since I'm already irritated, this company I bought a program from has pissed me off beyond belief. I still have not received a key for it and now my emails go unanswered. I have looked through their site a zillion times and cannot find a number for them...I suspect they are overseas. They have many other programs listed on the site I work for so I threatened to remove them. No answer. I removed them yesterday. That doesn't help me getting my money back or getting a fucking key but at least they cannot advertise their products through me for free anymore. I did find a different program that has a 15 day trial so at least I can get all my photos done with it before it expires, I hope, with no watermarks.

We won one game in league on Sunday. I was bowling like shit and unfortunately, one of the other team's members had a high handicap so that hurt us. Next week we are supposed to be playing a team with low handicaps so, as long as we bowl fairly good, we could win. Keith and Mary Jo knocked the #1 team out of their spot by winning all 3 games though. Hehe.

FunkyB and Mumbles came by last night and played some Texas Hold 'Em. Mumbles won overall.

Did I mention Bush can lick my ass too?

More exciting than watching the results of the presidential election was tuning into my live webcam of my head exploding at that exact time. I'm so pissed I could squeeze little "Bushy's" neck so tight his head just pops right off. I better settle in for 4 more years of him fucking up the country while smirking with his beady little eyes.

Nothing and no one I voted for won. Ok, one issue came out the way I wanted it to. Really makes me think the whole voting process was pointless. Oh yeah, that's why I never vote huh?

I guess my personal email address is gone now. Since the host change, I can't log into it. The one I use for ordering online has been spam attacked and all of a sudden I am getting 200+ spams from what looks like the same source every day. I guess I need to find a new address.

Sorry for the delay in putting up the new photos. I downloaded a red eye remover a few days ago and paid for it but they haven't sent me a key yet so I can't use it. Considering I downloaded it from the site I work for and I am the producer, I let them know I was not pleased in having to wait forever to use the program and will not recommend it to our users. I have time tonight to mess with the photos but without a red eye remover, I can't do much. I'm sure I could do it in Photoshop but I'm not too savvy with that program and don't have that much time to mess around with it enough to figure it out.

Mau likes his new job. Tonight is his last training shift then he'll be put on regular shifts. We have been playing a lot of Madden. There is a new Karaoke Revolution coming out Tuesday...FunkyB came flying downstairs to tell me while I was playing DDR. One word for this new one: Duets. Sweet! I have also taught Skylar how to play Yahtzee. He picked it up really fast and loves it now. I think he thinks it's pretty cool to be able to play adult games now.

Kali has discovered our bed is really comfortable...this is probably mostly due to 3 warm kitties who are not too keen on sharing their bed with a dog. The bed is getting a bit crowded now. Thankfully Skylar no longer sneaks into it too anymore.

Go Vote!

I voted today. I am not sure how much it matters but I just felt it necessary this year. Yes, I hate Bush and I want him out of there...that is really what it comes down to. There are a few issues I wanted to vote on too.

The mini party turned into something slightly larger thanks to Edr0. I invited FunkyB over but Edr0 had invited a bunch of people so I had to prepare for it with nothing really ready. It all turned out fine and we finally got to meet Roon. She seemed very nice, even petting Freyja with no ill consequences. No one dressed up but Steve & Shawntee stopped by in costume on their way to another party so I got pictures of them.

We took the annual trip to the cemetery on Sunday. I haven't messed with the photos yet but I think they turned out nice. People are waiting to see them so I will have to get on the ball here in the next couple of days.

Mau got some grief at one of the jobs he had to quit to start this new job. I don't think quitting a 6 hour per week job making $30-$40 at best to make a considerable amount more at a full time job when you are trying to support a family a bad thing. I think it's more of a necessary thing. They made sure to let him know they thought his decision was pure evil though. How dare he not want to work a month to buy a week's worth of groceries. He must be insane. Well, as insanity goes, he's liking his new job and can't wait to get through training and get some tips shifts. They also offer benefits and vacation. Sounds good to me.
